Sept. 23rd - 27th, 2020
TORONTO TO NEW YORK CITY
ABOUT THE EVENT
The R2//NYC is an epic ride experience from Toronto to New York City created in support of Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium.
The approximately 800 km journey from Toronto to New York City will be broken down over five 155 km days of riding, culminating with all teams arriving together in New York City on the fifth day.
Along with the common goal of reaching New York City, the group of riders will also leverage the ride to raise considerable funds for Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium; Giving Kids with Cancer a chance to just be Kids!
The ride format is based on a proven Danish model Team Rynkeby; which is an epic 1,200 km ride supporting 2,000 riders originating in 4 Scandinavian countries riding to Paris, France.
The unique R2//NYC format supports individual teams of 12 to 14 riders.
All participating teams will finish the 800km journey together in New York City.
"R2//NYC was my athletic highlight of 2018. The ride was a chance for me to ‘do good’ by raising money for camp Ooch, while taking on a tough, but fun challenge with new people with similar ambitions.
Everything from the route, planning, to the accommodations was incredibly well executed. I'll be back in 2019 for sure!"

"R2//NYC is a first class riding experience ~ human powered from your driveway to Manhattan! The riding is incredible, however its the special connection with Camp Ooch which sets this ride apart. Each evening is spent with Ooch staff participating in camp ritual, bonding as a team, and learning about how our ride is supporting the real heroes ~ the brave kids of Camp Ooch. R2//NYC is the perfect finish to cap off your cycling season."
"There simply isn’t a bike ride like R2//NYC. Five days of challenging riding on roads less traveled through gorgeous and hilly landscape. Riding on an intimate team, sort of like the pros - all with a sense of Camp Ooch effectively woven in.
I’m already excited for the 2019 edition and the future growth of R2//NYC."
R2//NYC IS A RIDE, NOT A RACE.
However, given the length of each stage and the duration of the ride, only experienced riders should apply to participate. The Ride is available and open to all passionate riders through their club affiliate. The designated ride leaders from each club will vet each rider applicant, ensuring they have both the fitness and experience level to complete the ride.

WE RIDE FOR CAMP OOCH & CAMP TRILLIUM
A diagnosis of childhood cancer is a big, scary, sudden swerve in the road, changing life in an instant.
For affected families, it can feel like everything is about cancer. Simple, childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams are left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school.
For over 35 years, Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium has offered a different path – the healing power of fun, friendship and self-confidence, and the joy of kids getting to just be kids!
Almost 80% of children with cancer in Ontario don’t get to experience the wonders of going to Camp. Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium wants to change that. Relying on the generosity of private donations to make the Magic of Camp possible, Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium needs your help. You can help Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium send more kids to Camp. Give the gift of Camp – ensure no child misses out.
